Well, the sauce is a little tangy, but explosive? Numerous Chick-fil-A Customers say the infamous Polynesian sauce is spontaneously exploding.
A customer posted a recent statement on Reddit claiming the sauce “opens up and gets everywhere” after “a month or 2” of having it. The user posted under the name ShanNtrav is one of many customers who has shared the same “explosive” experience.
“They just easily explode. Not sure why,” another person stated.
An employee also shared their experience, saying, “I’ve even had times when working and stocking the poly sauce i’ve found it randomly exploded in boxes…. i guess that’s just how it is.”
But the explosive packets aren’t a new phenomenon. It’s been happening for a few years now. Some tweets date back to 2016, Fox News reported, adding that it should be noted that the exploding packets are packages that have not been put in the refrigerator.
It’s still unknown why this is happening, but the Redditor says it could be linked to “acidic in the sauce that eats through the packaging.”
One user says after putting the packets in the fridge, it’s stopped happening.
The fast-food chain will begin selling the sauce and its other signature Chick-fil-A sauce to retailers. In October, Chick-fil-A announced they would roll out to selected stores across the country.
