D.L. Hughley isn’t having it and claps back at Mo’Nique after she passed several insults on stage about his life, family, and the secret implications of his initials, implying he’s secretly gay.
Mo’Nique told the crowd during her set at the Comedy Explosion in Detroit that she should be headlining the event, not her fellow comedian. She claims that’s what the contract said.
“That’s what the motherf*cking contract says… Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf*cking person on the got damn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.”
But D.L. Hughley believes she has some issues since The Parkers actress has had public feuds with many people. He responded with receipts showing he was always supposed to be the main event.
“Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and 4 other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique.” He then brought up her past public beefs with Netflix, Oprah Winfrey, and Tyler Perry claiming that she needs to take accountability for her actions.
He says, “At some point it can’t be everyone else, IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned.”
The actress had been blacklisted in Hollywood after insisting others did her wrong in her past. In 50 Cent’s best efforts, he announced he would help her and “put her back on” by casting her in his Starz series. She also will replace Octavia Spencer in Lee Daniels Demon House to squash their previous tumultuous public relationship.
