DaBaby is once again making headlines for something other than his music. He’s now facing charges connected to an incident that happened back in December during a music video shoot.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged the rapper with felony battery. In addition, one of the rapper’s associates, Thankgod Awute, was charged with felony robbery. The charges stem from a fight that took place at a rental property managed by Gary Pagar.
Pagar showed up at the LA rental to enforce a guest limit on the property. He was told the home would be a vacation spot for DaBaby and his friends, and he made it clear that the max allowed was 12 people. The rapper’s management team agreed to the terms in a rental agreement, according to TMZ.
When he showed up, there was a full-blown music video shoot going on. Pagar claims there were upwards of 40 people, so he tried to shut it down since it violated the rental agreement.
He claims someone in DaBaby’s entourage attacked him. The rapper called the guy off Pagar but then sucker-punched him in the face. According to a lawsuit filed in February, Pagar lost a tooth due to the punch.
The video in question appears to be Stunna 4 Vegas’ “Play U Lay,” featuring Ola Runt. Vegas is signed to DaBaby’s Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment label. The video features a guest appearance by Jake Paul.
