Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Fine $25K For His Postgame Comments

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been fined $25,000 for his postgame comment following the team’s defeat on Sunday.

After the Cowboys’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers, a statement Dak said in his postgame interview wasn’t pleasing to the NFL. The quarterback was asked how he felt about the fans hurling trash and bottles at the referees as they were exiting the field.

“Credit to them. The fans felt the same way as us. I guess that’s why the refs took off and got out of there so fast. I think everybody is upset with the way this thing played out,” Prescott says.

However, it didn’t take long for the NFL to take action against the 28-year-old QB. Seeing the nature of Dak’s comment, it’s no surprise the fine was put into place.

Dak later took to Twitter to apologize for his comments towards the officials.

“I deeply regret the comments I made regarding the officials after the game on Sunday. I was caught up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were uncalled for and unfair.”

He then followed up with another tweet to say, “hold and the NFL Officials in the highest regard and have always respected their professionalism and the difficulty of their jobs.”

Prescott ends his series of tweets by admitting to his mistake and apologizing again.

“That was a mistake on my behalf, and I am sorry.”
