Just days after the altercation that left a 30-year-old man with a broken nose, the Dallas Police Department has suspended the investigation into the alleged assailant, Ezekiel Elliott.
Although the department never named Elliott as a suspect, Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan reported that the Cowboys’ star running back was indeed involved in the altercation that occurred Sunday night at Clutch Bar. In addition, TMZ Sports reported that a witness identified Elliott as an assailant but the department could not confirm without further evidence. However, another witness claimed that although Elliott was in the venue that night, he wasn’t anywhere near the victim at the time of the assault
Now, the case has reportedly been suspended after the victim went MIA.
“The assault offense that occurred on July 16th at the Clutch Bar located at 2520 Cedar Springs Road has been suspended due to the lack of a complaint,” the department said in a statement. “Dallas detectives made several attempts to contact the victim through various ways but at this time have not been able to make contact. To date no witnesses have come forward to provide any additional information about this incident.”
Apparently, the victim gave police an old address and wrong number, making it impossible for the police to contact him for an interview.
While Elliott may be clear of the Clutch Bar drama, ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the baller could still face a one to two game suspension for the 2016 domestic dispute he was involved in.
