Dame Dash is hurling new accusations at his former friend, Jay-Z, particularly about his hit song, “Big Pimpin.”
During a recent chat with XXL Magazine, Dash once again touched on the Roc-A-Fella glory days, which included the hit single. During the chat, Future’s lyrics, “Big pimpin’, rockin’ with her like I’m Dame Dash” from his track” Fried” were brought up. Dash was impressed by the song and then revealed that each word of Jay’s “Big Pimpin” was inspired by him and his lifestyle.
“Everything Jay said, he was pretending to be me, yes,” Dash stated confidently around the two-minute mark.
The interviewer, seemingly stunned, then asked the producer if Hov was actually telling Dame’s story on the track, to which he replied, “Duh.”
“Big Pimpin” is now three times platinum and serves as one of Hov’s biggest records from that time period. The single was featured on his 1999 album, “Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter.” “Big Pimpin” featured UGK and was a saucy ballerific anthem, the musical embodiment of the rapper lifestyle. Highlighting the money, women, and luxury that hip-hop has to offer, “Big Pimpin” became a rap staple, which still gets any party going over two decades later. However, Dash believes he is the inspiration behind the song.
This is not the first time Dash has taken a swipe at Jay, and it certainly won’t be the last time. In March, he accused his former friend of misusing Roc-A-Fella funds to stop Dash from selling his shares in the company. He has also accused Jay of stealing records from other artists.
