Dame Dash is opening up about the past confrontation with Jim Jones, which was brought to light by Cam’ron.

If you recall, Cam shared on his platform that Jones had asked several men to jump Dash at his art gallery. It’s unknown exactly what was the motivation behind Jones’ actions. However, Dash says the series of events did take place and disappointed him greatly during a recent chat on “The Art of Dialogue.”
“That was true,” Dash explained. “I’ve never been in a situation where someone that I consider family actually tried to have somebody physically put their hands on me. It blew my mind. The level of disrespect. It was so unHarlem that it was embarrassing. That one of the ones that I raised would actually try to have me hurt.”
Making the situation worse was that it appears the jumping was orchestrated to embarrass Dash in front of his significant other. However, the Roc-a-Fella mogul left unharmed. According to Cam, there is video evidence of the entire situation, though he urged those who owned it not to release the footage. Jones has previously made his thoughts about Dash known, calling him a “culture vulture.” He’s even accused Dash of refusing to properly compensate him in the past.
Nevertheless, Dash is unsure of the root of their issues, especially since he played a role in Dipset’s success. He believes that their issues should have been handled privately.
“There was just no way that was going to happen without some degree of a fight…what broke my heart was I felt like I raised everybody better than that. And it looked like a black eye to whatever I was teaching. It was just embarrassing. And family business should be within family,” he added.
