The “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries has given us just as many shocking plot twists as the actual source. The latest comes from former Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder, Dame Dash and his discussion with Nick Cannon on his new podcast “Cannon’s Class.”
In the interview, Dame continued to proclaim his disdain for R. Kelly despite his relationship with Jay-Z and past with Aaliyah. He admitted that the relationship Jay had with Kelly rubbed him the wrong way, with his company working with the controversial singer.
He said, “So what you think I felt? I’m human, bro. I had to look the other way all these years. That n**ga did a record with the n**ga that raped my girl that he liked as well. But no one said nothing.” He continued, “I remember having the conversation with Aaliyah, and I was like, ‘Yo, tell me what happened,’ and she was just like, ‘Leave it alone.’”
Nick then pointed out that Dame was in R.Kelly and Jay-Z’s “Guilty Until Proven Innocent” video, to which Dame responds, “Don’t put me in that. Am I with Kells in that video? I wasn’t in it.” However, we all know Dame was definitely in R. Kelly’s “Fiesta” video and in the comments section of Nick’s latest Instagram posts, he assured fans that topic was discussed during the full interview.
In another clip of teaser footage of the interview, Nick doesn’t hesitate to ask, “At what age was Foxy Brown signed?” Dame quickly responded, “I wasn’t paying attention to Foxy Brown…I didn’t sign Foxy Brown.” Cannon stated he thought Foxy was 16-years-old when she was signed by Jay-Z and reveals, “I thought there was something between Foxy and Jay.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Dame, seemingly frustrated, replied, “It sounds like you have a question for Jay. Ask him.” Adding, “You keep asking me questions y’all want to ask him ’cause he ain’t here. Ask him, I ain’t got shit to do with that and I don’t even know nothing about that.”
