The drama between Roc-A-Fella co-founders Damon Dash and Jay-Z seems to be never-ending. Now, Dame is accusing Jay of stealing the streaming rights to Reasonable Doubt.
Amid their ongoing legal dispute over Dash’s intended sale of the classic 1996 album as a non-fungible token (NFT), a new lawsuit has been filed. Dash filed a summons in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday alleging HOV transferred the streaming rights to Reasonable Doubt to S. Carter Enterprises, LLC. Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is the sole owner of the company.
In a one-page legal filing obtained by the Hollywood Reporter, Dash claims unjust enrichment, breach of fiduciary duty, replevin, and conversion. He is seeking $1 million in damages.
The lawsuit comes on the heels of the suit HOV filed last month against Dash over for trying to sell an NFT of the album. A judge temporarily blocked the sale, but the case is still pending.
