Damson Idris Suffered ‘Nightmares for a Month’ After Seeking Inspiration For His “Snowfall” Character From The Devil [Video]

Damson Idris revealed that he sought inspiration from the devil for his character in Snowfall, which subsequently led to distressing nightmares.

The 31-year-old actor recently sat in on a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter and opened up about his time filming for the series. During the conversation, Idris shared that he suffered nightmares after seeking inspiration for his role from the devil.

“In this last season I was hitting a block, I was like, ‘Oh I’m not doing it right,'” the actor said around the 9:50 mark. “I went in the corner and then I was looking at the wall, and I was like, ‘Come on Devil, come on Devil. Come to me, come to me.”

He continued, “I had to do something, like, cr*zy. [I] had nightmares for a month, I had nightmares every day. I just felt that energy, and I had to pray and do all of this stuff to get rid of it. You know, you call your mum up, and you’re like, ‘Bring me back to life.’ That stuff is real, that stuff is really is real.”

After the “devil” clip went viral Thursday, Idris seemingly responded on Instagram, reiterating that he loves God.

In the acclaimed FX crime drama, Snowfall, Damson Idris portrayed the character of Franklin Saint, a drug kingpin involved in the production and distribution of crack cocaine in South Central Los Angeles.

However, the sixth and final season of the show delves deeper into Franklin’s character as he descends further into darkness, witnessing his continued downfall from the pinnacle of the criminal underworld.
