Conor McGregor is determined to redeem himself after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov by submission at UFC 229 this weekend. In fact, according to Dana White, the MMA fighter has already reached out to him to make it happen.
Just days after McGregor’s defeat, White says the fighter called him to set up a rematch with the Russian champion. But, in the wake of the post-fight brawl, sparked by Khabib, a rematch is not likely – at least not right now.
”He has to go before the (Nevada State Athletic) Commission, we have to see what’s gonna happen with Khabib with this whole mess,” White said on “First Take.” “But, Conor McGregor has already called me wanting a rematch.”
With McGregor’s brutal loss, the hosts of the ESPN show suggested the Irish superstar take a break, which prompted White to give his own take on who Khabib should face off against first.
“Tony Ferguson looked amazing,” White said. “Those two have been lined up to fight 3 different times and it hasn’t happened, so we’ll see how this thing plays out.”
