Ladies, grab your popcorn and wine because R&B singer D’Angelo is next up on the Verzuz battle. The singer has yet to announced his opponent but the battle will be held live from Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater on Feb. 27.
It is said that the singer will be joined by a few “industry friends,” so be prepared for a “legendary night” next Saturday 8 p.m. ET on VerzuzTV’s Instagram Live and Apple Music.
In 2014, D’Angelo’s album Black Messiah reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200. His highest-charting Hot 100 hit, “Lady,” stands as his lone top 10, having hit No. 10 back in March of 1996.
