Actor Daniel Kaluuya will not be reprising his role in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film.
On Wednesday, Rotten Tomatoes’ Jacqueline Coley broke the shocking news about Kaluuya via Twitter. The news came following Coley’s interview with Kaluuya. The actor said he wasn’t returning to the much-anticipated sequel due to scheduling issues with Jordan Peele’s horror flick, Nope.

In 2021, Kaluuya spoke with Jamel’s Hill and was pressed about his return to the MCU. Kaluuya shocked the audience when he said the status of his role is unclear at the moment.
“I have no idea,” Kaluuya said speaking about his involvement in the film. “I speak to Ryan, I’m not gonna go, ‘Yo, [put me in the movie].’ He’s living his life and working hard. Whatever the story needs, you know? That [first movie] was a moment for us, and I don’t want to go like, ‘I’m trying to be in it just because I want it.’ It’s for us, I’m a fan.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will premiere on November 11th. The film arrives just two years following Chadwick Boseman’s death. Chadwick portrayed the titular superhero, T’Challa in the first installment. Kaluuya starred as W’Kabi, T’Challa’s right hand man.
