There was one time when former New Orleans Saints player Darren Sharper had it all. Now he’s lost everything due to allegations that he’s drugged and raped nearly a dozen women.
We’ve been following the sexual assault cases involving Sharper that span through out New Orleans, Arizona and Los Angeles. He’s accused of drugging at least 11 women and raping 7. He’s been spending the last few months behind bars in Los Angeles and there is no end in sight now that it’s being reported that Sharper and 2 of his accomplices are facing federal drug charges in addition to state charges. Sharper was also indicted on two counts of aggravated rape and one count of simple rape.

Sharper and Licciardi face federal drug distribution charges as well as tampering with a witness and obstruction of an official proceeding.
In a six-count indictment, federal prosecutors said Sharper and Licciardi, a St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy at the time of the incident, did “knowingly and intentionally combine, conspire, confederate and agree with each other and others, both known and unknown to the grand jury, to distribute Alprazolam, Diazepam and Zolphidem, schedule IV controlled substances, with the intent to commit a crime of violence, that is, rape…”
Prosecutors said the alleged activity happened Feb. 2, 2013, Sept. 23, 2013, and from “at least January 2010 up to and including May 1, 2014.”
According to prosecutors, Licciardi “did knowingly attempt to corruptly persuade a witness by requesting her to not provide law enforcement officials with certain information concerning his involvement” with the investigation.
The filing was unsealed Friday in federal court and is being handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Orleans. If convicted, Sharper and Licciardi will face a mandatory life sentence in a federal prison.
Sharper and Licciardi, along with Erik Nunez, were indicted on state charges Friday morning in connection with the rape investigation that began in January 2014.
Darren Sharper is a sick man and with the amount of time he’s been spending locked up, and the mountain of evidence piling up, I’d like to know why his trial hasn’t started yet.
As far as Sharper’s buddies, Eric Nunez is charged with two counts of aggravated rape (raping the two girls in New Orleans) and one count of obstruction of justice, Brandon Licciardi is charged with three counts of human trafficking (bringing the women to Sharper and Nunez), one count of aggravated rape, and one count of obstruction of justice. There’s also said to be a charge that involves a woman that has not been reported by the media.
Bail has been set for $2.5 million for Sharper’s rape charges. Read details on the drug indictment HERE.
