Dave Chappelle Speaks On His Comedy Show Attack: ‘I Felt Good My Friends Broke His Arm’ [Video]

Audio of Dave Chappelle discussing how his friends helped him after he was attacked during his comedy set for Netflix Is A Joke at the Hollywood Bowl has emerged.

Wednesday footage showed comedian Dave Chappelle being attacked by a 23-year-old man named Isaiah Lee, who was wielding a replica gun and a knife. The man has since been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon. He’s being held in jail, and his bond was set at $30,000.

Thursday, Chappelle spoke out about the incident, praising his friends for sticking up for him.

“I felt good my friends broke his arm. I felt good, how bad does a n***** have to be that Jon Stewart would stomp him!” said Chappelle. He added that “killing that n**** would have been stupid.” He went on to say at the comedy show’s after-party that he thanked his friends for having his back.

“….those are very powerful friends and I’m sharing [this night] with people I love very much,” TMZ reports.
