Andre Allen, the former husband of En Vogue and Lucy Pearl singer Dawn Robinson, is extending a helping hand after she recently revealed she’s been living out of her car for the past three years.
Allen, who was married to Robinson from 2003 to 2010, told TMZ that while their marriage ended on bad terms, he doesn’t want to see his ex-wife continue to struggle. He’s offering her a job within the Hilton hotel group, believing her charisma and industry experience could translate well into the hospitality sector.
“Entertainment isn’t going to pay her what she’s worth,” Allen said. He believes Robinson’s background in music and her engaging personality would make her an asset in sales and hospitality, potentially earning her more stability than the unpredictable music industry.
Robinson recently opened up about her situation, sharing that she’s been living in her car after being let down by family members and a former manager. Despite the hardships, she expressed pride in her resilience and determination to rebuild her life.
Allen, who has since found faith, a new fiancée, and success outside of the music industry, said he’s witnessed too many of his peers struggle financially after leaving the spotlight. He wants to help Robinson avoid the same fate.
He also emphasized that the Hilton position would come with immediate benefits, including healthcare and paid time off—giving Robinson the flexibility to continue her music career if she chooses.
Allen revealed that he offered this opportunity to Robinson even before she became homeless and hopes she’s now open to accepting it.
Robinson, known for her powerhouse vocals and hits with En Vogue and Lucy Pearl, has not publicly responded to Allen’s offer.
