Drake posted a picture hanging out with Kevin Durant from the sidelines of an NBA open run, but people were focused on his outfit. Drizzy was sporting a bright blue FUBU tee with blue jeans and pink barrettes in his hair.
TMZ caught up with FUBU founder Daymond John, who expressed surprise over Drake’s outfit. But, he called it a testament to the brand’s staying power.
“Time and time again, I’ve seen Megan Thee Stallion, SZA been wearing it, Chris Brown, and now Drake,” he told the outlet. “These people are defining our culture today, and I think that to think about the fact that this is something that my partners and I came up with 35 years ago in our basement, and they say trends come and go, fashion is forever.”
John added, “To see them rediscover our brand on the 50th anniversary of hip hop is just an amazing thing.”
FUBU was founded in 1992 and was at the forefront of hip hop and urban fashion before fading from the American market in the early ‘00s. However, the brand has experienced a resurgence in recent years.
FUBU has recently collaborated with brands like Pyer Moss, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters.
