Last month, Delicia Cordon was hospitalized after a violent home invasion left her beaten and bloody inside her ex-boyfriend, LeSean McCoy’s Georgia home.
At the time, the two had been at odds over McCoy’s lawsuit to evict Cordon from the home. According to the legal docs, the Buffalo Bills running back asked that she move out of his house and return all of his items she had in her possession. In Cordon’s rebuttal, she revealed McCoy attempted to displace her, once before, by hiring friends to move her stuff out of the home.
However, a month later amid the legal battle between the two, Cordon was beaten and robbed of $133,000 worth of jewelry in a home invasion, which she claimed to be orchestrated by McCoy. Now as a result of the incident, Cordon is suing the NFL baller and his former University of Pittsburgh teammate, Tamarcus Porter, for damages.
In the lawsuit obtained by ESPN, Cordon blamed McCoy for the entire ordeal.
According to the publication, Cordon said McCoy had previously changed the security codes for the home and refused to give them to her. She said her ex “breached his duty to use ordinary care to protect the Plaintiff from dangerous activities being conducted at the Residence.”
As she continued, Cordon also revealed that the July 10th intruder “indicted [to Cordon] that he knew McCoy,” which led Cordon to believe it was a setup, since the masked man robbed her of the jewelry McCoy previously asked her to return.
Cordon claimed McCoy had access to the live video feed from the house and did nothing to help stop the attack. She said he had “actual and constructive knowledge of criminal activity existing on the property,” at the time of the incident, which she knew because his friend, Porter, previously told police he could watch the feed. Porter also filed the lawsuit to evict on behalf of his longtime friend, McCoy, ESPN reports.
According to the sports outlet, the lawsuit also highlights Cordon’s claim of physical abuse at the hands of McCoy, against his dog and his son. In the suit, she said McCoy would “exhibit rage and often brutally beat his dog in the presence of the Plaintiff and her friends,” and would “aggressively, physically discipline and beat his young son over minor mistakes that all young children make.” However, the suit does not mention a police report.
As a result, the fashion designer is demanding $133,000 in damages for the stolen jewelry and an additional $13,000 for furniture that was previously taken in a June 1st incident by McCoy’s family and friends.
In addition to Cordon, her friend, Elizabeth Donald, who was also attacked in the incident, is suing McCoy, as well, for the violent attack. In the meantime, McCoy denies any involvement.
