Demi Lovato Want People To Stop Commenting On Their Weight Loss

Demi Lovato says they want people to stop commenting on their weight loss.

Lovato, 28, took to their Instagram page on Saturday and opened up about being more than just a body.

“Idk who needs to hear this but complimenting someone on their weight loss can be as harmful as complimenting someone on their weight gain in regards to talking to someone in recovery from an eating disorder,” Lovato, 28, wrote. They added that statements about their weight loss or gain sometimes keep them up at night.

“If you don’t know someone’s history with food, please don’t comment on their body,” they continued. “Because even if your intention is pure, it might leave that person awake at 2am overthinking that statement.”

They went on to say that hearing comments about their weight loss can sometimes be good, but sometimes their “loud ass eating disorder voice inside my head” can overwhelm them. Lovato says they wonder what others felt about their body before the weight loss.

“Moral of the story: I am more than the shell for my soul that is my body and everyday I fight to remind myself of that, so I’m asking you to please not remind me that that is all people see of me sometimes,” they wrote.

  1. I agree with you, some people make really bad comments about other’s obesity without thinking about how the other person will feel. This can be really negative for that person at times and this thing can even hurt him. If possible, encourage him when he gains weight and support the person and praise him.
