Everybody’s favorite uncle, Denzel Washington, is undisputedly one of the greatest and most diverse actors ever. It’s no question that he should receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at this Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony.
Washington has been a star for over 30 years. He’s played nearly every role there was to play. Taken on nearly every challenge. He continues his career as not only an award winning actor, but also a director and producer.
“Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera,” says Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorezo Soria. It is the HFPA’s privilege to honor his contributions to the entertainment industry with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”
As an actor Denzel Washington has received 7 Golden Globe nominations, his most recent being for the 2012 film, “Flight.” Denzel joins the likes of Walt Disney, George Clooney, Sidney Poitier, Steven Spielberg and more who serve as recipients through out the years.
The Golden Globes take place on Sunday, January 10th at 8pm EST.
