Derek Chauvin, who murdered George Floyd, is allegedly on suicidal watch.
According to TMZ, Chauvin is being held in a single cell in a special wing at Ramsey County Jail in St. Paul, MN that’s held for high profile cases.
A source told the publication that Chauvin is in isolation and is being watched constantly. The ex-police officer has a camera in his cell that’s watching him 24/7 with guards physically checking on him every 15 minutes.
Police officials want to ensure that nothing happens to him while in custody. He is in his cell 23 hours a day with one hour of rec time in an enclosed area.
Chauvin has been charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter for killing George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes.
