Now that Yankees legend Derek Jeter is officially retired from the game of baseball, he has decided that he’s also ready to retire from the bachelor life. According to sources close to the couple, Jeter proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Hannah Davis, this past Sunday. It was the couple’s third anniversary.
The future baseball Hall of Famer and the 25-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model have kept their relationship pretty lowkey throughout the past few years. Though the two have been together since 2012, they only made their first public appearance together this past May at the annual Met Gala in NYC.
Jeter has dated plenty of beautiful and successful women in the past but none of them were able to steal his heart like his now-fianceé. According to US Weekly, there’s something about Davis’ personality and their compatibility that makes her different from all the rest. “Their relationship works because they are both supportive and sweet to each other,” a source told the magazine. “They almost never fight.”
Jeter has previously said that one of the main reasons for his retirement was that he wanted to start a family, and now he can finally make that happen.
