There may be an ending to the ongoing madness surrounding Deshaun Watson‘s legal matters because of sexual misconduct. In the most recent news, the 26-year-old has settled 20 of the 24 civil lawsuits.
Tony Buzbee represents all of the women who have filed the lawsuits and released a statement regarding the settlement.
“Today, I announce that all cases against Deshaun Watson, with the exception of four, have settled. We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements. Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed. The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won’t comment further on the settlements or those cases.”
Though the jury did not find enough sufficient evidence to try Watson on criminal charges, he isn’t in the clear yet.
The four pending cases under review include his original accuser, Ashley Solis.
Buzbee adds, “Ashley Solis is one of the heroes of this story. Her case has not settled, and thus her story and that of the other three brave women will continue. I look forward to trying these cases in due course, consistent with other docket obligations and the court’s schedule.”
There have been talks that Watson faces substantial suspension since he is subject to potential penalties from the NFL.
Watson has topped NFL and Cleveland headlines since the trade, which seemed to do more damage than good. He allegedly solicited sex with multiple masseuses over a period of 17 months while playing with the Texans.
Apparently, he hired over 60 masseuses for their services, precisely 66 to count, right now. The lawsuits have since poured in since his move to the Cleveland Browns.
The NFL is expected to decide a ruling on the matter and his playtime.
