Designer Anifa Mvuemba Takes Over Instagram With 3-D Models To Show Off Latest Collection

The coronavirus has put a damper on many of our plans from vacations, work, hanging out, and more. But for some, they are using this time to go harder than before.

Designer Anifa Mvuemba did exactly that. Over the weekend, the internet went crazy over the designer’s virtual fashion show that featured 3-D models for her latest collection for her brand, Hanifa.

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Mvuemba revealed that she had already planned the fashion show prior to the Coronavirus pandemic to launch her new collection, Pink Label Congo. Although the virtual fashion show had been planned, she was unsure if it was the right move due to many hardships around the world.

“The news came out about how serious things were, and I started to feel a bit anxious about everything going on. I started feeling like maybe it would be insensitive to create and share a new collection online while people were facing very difficult realities.”

While showcasing her beautiful designs, Mvuemba wanted to celebrate the beauty of her country, Congo, while bringing awareness to illegal mining.

The use of 3-D models is definitely a game-changer for Anifa Mvuemba, and the bar has been set extremely high for other designers.

“Designing content using 3D models and now an entire collection has been a complete game-changer for me. My decision to keep going could impact our customers for the better in ways I never imagined. That’s when I knew it was time.”

In the interview with the publication, Mvuemba talked about how many people would never be able to be apart of fashion week and wanting to create something that everyone could be apart of.

“We know that some people may never experience a fashion week or Hanifa showcase, so we wanted to show up for our audience where they show up for us on a daily basis. That’s when Instagram became the obvious choice.”
