Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh won’t be playing in next week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys after a dirty play on Sunday. Yesterday Suh stepped on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ injured calf as he was on the ground following a fourth-quarter completion to Jordy Nelson. At first glance it seems like an accident but after several replays it doesn’t appear so. One key indicator is that Suh backed up and stepped on Rodgers TWICE, so he definitely knew Rodgers was behind him. Secondly, he kind of lingered on the final step ensuring he put all his weight on him. A flag was not thrown at the time of the incident but that didn’t stop the NFL from offering up some type of punishment.Â
The stomping incident has earned Suh a one game suspension without pay. This means he will not be playing when the Detroit Lions face off against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. An ESPN reporter says that Suh plans to appeal. In my opinion, he’s lucky he wasn’t fined.
