A Detroit man was recently arrested after police found 18 guns inside a home where a marijuana vending machine was operating outside.
Marcellus Cornwell allegedly operated the machine outside his home for over four years and sold marijuana, making roughly $2,000 per day.
During February and March 2022, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) conducted surveillance at the residence and engaged in two controlled suspected marijuana purchases from the marijuana vending machine.
In March, they executed a search warrant at the residence and arrested Cornwell and another individual. They discovered 18 weapons, dozens of rounds of ammo, and several kilograms of marijuana during the search.
Cornwell has a history of criminal offenses dating back to 1997, according to various reports.
Some of the guns found during the search were discovered to be stolen.
Cornwell admitted to investigators that the marijuana vending machine was his primary source of income.
