A DHL warehouse employee has been fired and charged after the company said she stole Nike merchandise from the company’s processing facility located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Chamon Davis was arrested on Tuesday and charged with stealing close to $60,000 worth of Nike products from the Fox Meadows warehouse, which happens to be close to the Nike North American Logistic Campus, the brand’s primary distribution facility in the US.
Investigators said that the former employee made additional tracking numbers for various Nike orders that she didn’t purchase before shipping them to different addresses, WREG Memphis reported.
Luckily, Nike was able to recover $10,000 worth of products. But it remains unclear how long the operation was going down.
Police questioned Davis and say she confessed to the crimes and was then charged with theft of property. She was released from jail on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
