Cristiano Ronaldo, Madrid soccer star who was just dubbed ‘Player of the Year’ at the FIFA Ballon d’Or in Zurich, was missing the lady on his arm and many wondered why. After five years of dating, Ronaldo and model girlfriend Irina Shayk have called it quits.
Irina Shayk first sparked rumors when she stopped following Cristiano on Twitter. She also did not spend New Years Eve with him either. On Monday when she did not attend the Fifa Ballon d’Or ceremony, it was pretty obvious. Cristiano did bring his mom and his four year old son, though.
Four year old son? Five year relationship? Well, apparently Cristiano had a baby by a 20 year old British girl and then paid her 10 million Pounds to keep her mouth shut and never speak to their child again. Now he tells his son that his mother “went traveling” and his son never asks about it anymore. He once told him that his mom was “in heaven” but his family told him not to repeat that again. Cristiano’s family says that when he gets older and seeks his mother, they want it to be his decision. So yeah, he basically bought his baby.
Anyway, a source says Cristiano’s mom, Delores, wanted someone who would assume the role of mom for Cristiano Jr and that was not a priority for Irina. Sounds a lot like Love & Hip Hop, except after 5 years, you should be willing to be step-mom. Rumor has it there was also tension between Irina and Cristiano’s sisters Elma and Katia. Allegedly Shayk refused to attend his mom’s 60th (Surprise) Birthday Party and that was the icing on the cake for Cristiano. Gotta love a man who loves his mom!
“We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo of five years. She has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship,” Shayk’s rep tells Us Magazine in a statement. “Any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false, and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt. Irina has no further comment at the time.”
Well, of course her reps would say that.
