A former personal assistant to Sean “Diddy” Combs, testifying under the pseudonym “Mia,” continued her testimony Thursday in the music executive’s ongoing federal trial in New York. Mia is one of two anonymous witnesses expected to speak in court as prosecutors pursue charges related to sex trafficking, assault, and racketeering.
Taking the stand, Mia detailed what she described as a long-term pattern of inappropriate behavior and abuse. She testified that she was sexually assaulted by Combs on multiple occasions and said the incidents often happened unexpectedly, which made them difficult to process and report.
According to Mia, the first incident occurred in a suite at the Plaza Hotel around the time of Combs’s 40th birthday. She recalled Combs offering her vodka shots in the kitchen before leaning in to kiss her and placing his hand up her dress. Though she said she didn’t verbally object, she made it clear she was uncomfortable and did not want the contact.
Another incident she described happened in 2009 or 2010 while staying in a guest room at Combs’s Los Angeles home. Mia testified that she was asleep with the door unlocked—something she said was a house rule—when she woke up to Combs on top of her. She told the court he began to force himself on her.
“I just froze. I didn’t react,” she said. “It was very quick but it felt like forever.”
Mia said she didn’t feel safe or able to speak up during her time working for Combs. She described the work environment as intense and controlling, where staff were expected to follow strict personal rules, including being forbidden from locking doors and needing permission to leave the house. She once worked five days without sleep, eventually becoming disoriented and emotionally overwhelmed before being allowed to rest.
She also testified that Combs used her friendship with Cassie Ventura as leverage. She said he threatened to tell Cassie about their interactions, which made her feel even more trapped.
“I couldn’t tell him no about a sandwich,” Mia said on the stand. “I couldn’t tell him no about anything … I just thought I would be punished.”
Mia explained that she never reported the alleged abuse to human resources. She told the jury she believed the HR structure at Combs’s companies was not meant to support employees, but to discipline those who fell out of favor with him.
Her testimony supports the prosecution’s claim that Combs and his associates maintained an environment of fear and control, enabling misconduct and discouraging victims from coming forward.
Mia became emotional during parts of her testimony but continued to answer questions about her experience. Her testimony is expected to resume Friday.
