Celebrity stylist Deonte Nash took the stand in Sean Diddy Combs’ trial Wednesday, revealing disturbing details of an alleged violent episode between Combs and longtime ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
Nash, who said he was testifying under subpoena, made it clear he did not want to be there. Still, he recounted years of working closely with both Ventura and Combs, starting as an intern around 2008 and later becoming a full-time stylist.
According to Nash, he often overheard Combs threatening Ventura, including statements like “I’ll beat your a**” and threats to shelve her music or get her parents fired. He also revealed that every outfit Ventura wore needed to be pre-approved by Combs, indicating the level of control he allegedly exerted over her.
But it was a violent incident in either 2013 or 2014 that left a lasting impact. Nash testified that he was helping Ventura pack for a trip when Combs showed up unannounced, furious she hadn’t answered his calls.
Nash said Ventura was asleep on the couch when Combs stormed in, dragged her by the hair, and started hitting her. Nash, along with Combs’ assistant at the time—referred to in court as “Mia”—tried to intervene, rushing Ventura into a bedroom and attempting to lock the door. Combs allegedly forced his way in and continued the attack, hitting and kicking Ventura until she struck her head on a bed frame.
“When he noticed the blood, he just panicked,” Nash told the court. He said Combs then blamed the group, saying, “Look what y’all made me do.”
Nash said he tried calling 911, but someone told him to hang up before the call connected. The next day, Nash saw Ventura on a video call with a gash near her eyebrow and visible stitches. He testified that Combs sent her to a plastic surgeon with a security guard.
