Kalenna Harper, a former member of Diddy-Dirty Money, is now distancing herself from the controversy surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs following accusations brought against him by singer Dawn Richard.
In a lengthy statement released on Friday, Harper clarified her position, denying having witnessed any abusive behavior during her time working with Combs or his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Harper, a one-time cast member of “Love & Hip-Hop,” emphasized that while she has no issue with Richard sharing her personal experiences, those accounts should not be generalized.
“While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved,” she stated, adding, “Many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth.”
The controversy stems from a lawsuit filed by Richard, who accused Diddy of sexual assault and abusive behavior, including incidents where she and other celebrities allegedly witnessed him physically abuse Cassie. According to the court documents, Richard and Harper reportedly once urged Cassie to leave Combs after witnessing his mistreatment, leading to threats from the music mogul.
Despite these weighty accusations, Harper’s recent statement has made it clear that her experiences working with Combs were different. She did not personally witness any of the alleged abusive incidents described in Richard’s lawsuit. Ironically, Harper was one of the few people to defend Diddy when Rolling Stone published its May investigative piece about his alleged history of abuse.
Diddy is facing several lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and abuse. The allegations began after Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit in late 2023, which was quickly settled. Since then, more individuals have come forward with similar claims, increasing scrutiny on Combs, who denies the accusations.
Despite the ongoing legal troubles, Harper remains firm in her stance, choosing to distance herself from the growing controversy.
