The courtroom got tense today as “Jane,” a pseudonym for one of Diddy’s former girlfriends, faced intense cross-examination in a civil case involving allegations of sexual and physical abuse by the music mogul.
Jane previously described a relationship marked by manipulation, where emotional pressure blurred the lines between affection and control. She claimed Diddy introduced her to a lifestyle that included “freak offs” with escorts and that his financial generosity, about $150,000 wired to her, came with strings attached. Rent payments and expensive gifts, she said, were reminders of his control.
She also pointed to Diddy’s alleged heavy drug and alcohol use, recalling a trip to Turks and Caicos where he appeared physically unwell with symptoms she described as signs of drug overuse.
During today’s questioning, defense attorney Teny Geragos tried to poke holes in her story, pressing Jane on her knowledge of the relationship’s dynamics and the luxury gifts she received. At one point, Geragos asked about designer bags, prompting Jane to fire back, “How much does my body cost?”—a moment that paused the court proceedings.
Observers noted a shift in Jane’s demeanor compared to her emotional testimony the day before. While she remained mostly composed, her sharp tone during certain exchanges raised questions. Legal experts say her reactions could impact how jurors view her credibility, particularly as she deflected or justified some of her past actions.
Diddy, meanwhile, remained composed and appeared unaffected, even nodding and smiling at moments during Jane’s statements.
With more testimony to come, the case is shaping up to be a complex mix of alleged trauma, wealth, and power dynamics, leaving the jury with the heavy task of deciding what’s true and what’s performance.
