Another lawsuit has been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, adding to the growing list of troubling accusations against the music mogul. Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane and participant on Diddy’s 2004 MTV show Making The Band, has come forward with claims that Diddy emotionally abused, sexually harassed, and tormented her, while also forcing her to witness brutal acts of violence against his ex-girlfriend, Cassie.
In documents obtained by TMZ, Richard reveals that Diddy manipulated her during her time on Making The Band, promising to elevate her career if she complied with his twisted demands. According to the lawsuit, Diddy demeaned female contestants on the show, calling them “fat,” “ugly,” and referring to them as “bitches” and “hoes.” Richard says Diddy had a particular disdain for her, belittling her enthusiasm to work with such a high-profile celebrity.
In 2005, Richard says she saw another one of Diddy’s exes, Kim Porter, leave a studio with visible injuries on her face. Richard says she realized then just how dangerous Diddy could be and feared for her own safety.
Things escalated in 2006 when Richard claims she witnessed Diddy’s predatory behavior toward Cassie. She alleges that in 2009, during a drug-fueled rage, Diddy violently attacked Cassie at his Los Angeles home. According to Richard, Diddy slammed Cassie against a wall, choked her, and dragged her up a flight of stairs. On another occasion, Richard claims Diddy threw a hot pan of eggs at Cassie while screaming profanities.
Richard further details other violent incidents, including times when Diddy punched Cassie in the face and attempted to strangle her. She says she and fellow musician Kalenna Harper supported Cassie during this time, urging her to leave Diddy. When Diddy found out about these conversations, he allegedly issued chilling threats to them, saying, “Y’all bitches don’t get in my relationship… I end artists… You could be missing… You bitches want to die today?”
According to the lawsuit, Richard also became a direct target of Diddy’s abuse. She claims Diddy forced her into grueling 48-hour rehearsals without rest, causing her to become severely dehydrated and fatigued. On one occasion, Diddy allegedly demanded she come to his Miami home, where he greeted her wearing nothing but underwear. When she asked him to put on clothes, Diddy refused and screamed, “This is my f**king house!”
Between 2009 and 2011, Richard says the harassment worsened. She alleges that Diddy once barged into her dressing room while she was naked and inappropriately touched her without consent. On another occasion, Richard claims Diddy locked her in a car with tinted windows for two hours, ignoring her screams for help. She even called her father, who traveled from Baltimore to confront Diddy in New York. When her father threatened to report Diddy to the police, the music executive allegedly responded, “Think about your daughter’s career.”
These latest allegations come on the heels of several other accusations against Diddy, including Cassie’s recent lawsuit that was settled after she claimed years of abuse and violence. As more women step forward with their stories, the spotlight remains on Diddy and his actions behind closed doors.
