Diddy is making it his mission to take on cancel culture.
While speaking with Billboard, the mogul said that he is why Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen are performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
”I’m uncanceling the canceled,” Diddy, who is producing and hosting the award show, said.
He added, “That’s breaking news because people haven’t been about uncanceling. But canceling is a trend that needs to stop.”
Scott faced heavy backlash after ten people died and hundreds more were injured during his Astroworld Festival in November. Scott has been accused of continuing the show despite the crowd surges happening in the crowd. The “Sicko Mode” singer just recently began performing publicly again. Diddy insisted that Scott perform at the awards.
“I said, ‘My brother Travis Scott has to perform,'” he said.
As for Wallen, he was “canceled” after he was recorded using the n-word in February of last year. As a result, the country singer was removed from several award shows following the backlash he received. He was also dropped by his management company, banned by radio stations, and suspended from his label. He has since apologized, saying he was “embarrassed” and sorry” for using the racial slur.
“My brother Travis Scott has to perform. Travis went through a tragedy; Morgan [hurled the n-word] while talking to his boy,” Diddy said of Scott and Wallen. “People make mistakes. Now we’re moving on with love and respect for everybody that was hurt or affected. It’s time to forgive.”
