Diddy might just throw his support behind Donald Trump if a presidential pardon comes his way, at least according to his longtime lawyer, Mark Geragos.
Speaking on the “2 Angry Men” podcast, Geragos revealed that Diddy “would absolutely become a Trump supporter overnight,” though not for the reasons people might assume. Instead, Geragos says it stems from an unusual shared experience — both Diddy and Trump have faced intense battles with federal prosecutors.
“In my 40 years defending clients, when you’ve been prosecuted, you feel tortured. It creates a sort of fraternity,” Geragos explained.
Diddy is currently awaiting sentencing on two prostitution charges after being acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking. Geragos believes if Trump stepped in with clemency, the newfound bond between the two men would make Diddy’s public support almost inevitable.
Harvey Levin, co-host of the show, asked if there had been any behind-the-scenes discussions about how Diddy might speak about the president in exchange for a pardon. Geragos didn’t give a verbal answer, but his expressions hinted that the idea wasn’t far-fetched.
Whether or not such a deal would ever happen is unclear, but Geragos’ comments suggest Diddy’s legal fight has shifted his perspective, and Trump, with his own history of clashing with prosecutors, might be the unlikely figure who earns his loyalty.
