Diddy is planning to fight his legal battle head-on with no plans to discuss a plea deal.
His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, revealed this to TMZ in the new documentary “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment.” The Bad Boy founder is adamant and seemingly confident that he can prove his innocence. Diddy has been criminally charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His many civil lawsuits also alleged that he had drugged victims and sexually assaulted them with the help of friends. Many of these incidents took place during the now infamous “freak-offs.”
Despite the mounting legal woes, Agnifilo notes that Diddy’s motivation extends beyond himself; he hopes his fight will encourage others to face what he believes is unjust government action. The 54-year-old wants to inspire people in similar situations to stand firm and resist when the authorities come after them.
Additionally, Diddy’s family, particularly his children, are also a critical factor in his decision to reject any plea deal, as he aims to prove to them that he is, in fact, innocent. Agnifilo suggests that Diddy believes he’s being targeted by federal authorities due to his success as a Black man, which has also been a conversation among his supporters. Conspiracy theorists cite his court battle with alcohol company Diageo as being the reason for his downfall. However, there is no evidence to support this.
Diddy is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
