Diddy’s lawyer speaks out following the Bad Boy mogul’s recent settlement with his former girlfriend Cassie.
On Saturday, attorney Ben Brafman revealed to Page Six that despite Diddy’s settling with Cassie, it is not “an admission” of guilt.
“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” Brafman said. “Mr. Combs‘ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”
Brafman issued his most recent statement just hours following the revelation that Diddy had resolved the lawsuit for rape and abuse filed against him by Cassie.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie wrote in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Additionally, Diddy also spoke out on the settlement saying “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Earlier this week, Cassie filed a lawsuit against her former employer and former romantic partner, alleging rape, physical mistreatment, facilitating her introduction to alcohol and drugs, and compelling her to engage in sexual activities with male escorts while he observed and masturbated.
