The federal criminal case against disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, involving charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, has been reassigned to a new judge.
On Thursday, the court docket indicated that Judge Arun Subramanian will now oversee the case.
Subramanian, who was nominated by President Joe Biden in 2022, previously served as a civil litigator and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
No reason for the judicial reassignment was provided. The case was originally assigned to Judge Andrew Carter, who denied Combs bond, citing concerns over allegations of witness tampering and violence.
Combs, who has pleaded not guilty, is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while he awaits trial.
He has appealed the bond decision.
