Anthony Weiner is out of prison.
According to TMZ, the disgraced former U.S. Congressman has been transferred out of a Massachusetts prison and into the custody of a Bureau of Prisons residential re-entry event in New York.
Weiner still has a few months in federal custody before he’s officially freed, but this transfer happened earlier previously expected.
The pre-release status transfer is common for inmates who are approaching the end of their federal sentence. With the purpose being to help prepare them to re-enter into society.
The shamed politician began serving a 21-month prison sentence in November of 2017 after he pleaded guilty to sexting with a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina.
He was slated to be released in August of 2019, but good behavior helped trim his sentence with his release date now moved to May 14.
