Disneyland and Disney World will allow guests to keep their masks on or off if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Disney is leaving the mask mandate behind and leaving it up to visitors to decide if they want the mask on or mask off, but only if they are vaccinated. The option will be available for fully vaccinated Disneyland and Disney World goers starting February 17, 2022. If you aren’t fully vaccinated, you’ll have to keep your mask on.
The Walt Disney Company announced the new rules on Tuesday.
“We expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theatres,” the company said on its website. “Face coverings will still be required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.”
People aged two and up will be required to wear a mask. There are no details on how the park will check vaccination status for guests. Nevertheless, the Walt Disney Company said the safety of visitors is their top mission.
“At The Walt Disney Company, the safety and well-being of our employees during the pandemic has been and continues to be a top priority,” reads the statement.
