Disney Laying Off 32,000 Workers

32,000 workers will be laid off from the Walt Disney Company. According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the lay-offs will happen in the first half of 2021.

Employees at Disneyland in Southern California are being furloughed due to the surge in Coronavirus cases, and there is still uncertainty about whether the state will allow the theme parks to open because of the new lockdown restrictions in California.

Theme parks around the world have reopened. Florida’s theme park reopened with new restrictions like testing and mask requirements and social distancing. Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo are open.

In France, Disney closed for the second time in October.
