Disney World is giving visitors a new no-touch entry into the happiest place on the Earth.
As the doors open for theme parks, corporations are thinking of new strategies to help curve the spread of COVID-19. This week, Disney World launched MagicMobile, a new app that would allow guests to enter the parks using their Apple devices.
Earlier this month, Disney Parks notified guests about the new service as an alternative to its MagicBand wristband, Fox News reports. The wristbands can still be used or purchased.
To use the MagicMobile pass, guests will have to first “create” and customize their digital pass on the My Disney Experience app. Then, it can be added to their digital wallets on iPhones, Apple, Watches, or “other smart devices.”
Once the pass is set up, guests can simply hold the device up to access points that are stationed near the park entrances. According to Fox News, the app is currently only available on Apple iPhones with iOS 14.4 or later operating systems and Apple Watch watchOS 7.3 or later operating systems.
More than one pass can be added onto one digital wallet, Disney says. Guests who have Express Mode on Apple devices won’t have to open their apps or unlock their phones to enter.
