Disney Plus is now developing a sequel to a fan-favorite Halloween movie, “Hocus Pocus.”
The original “Hocus Pocus,” which premiered in 1993, starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, three sisters and witches who had been cursed since 1693 in Salem, MA. A virgin boy who moved from Los Angeles to Salem refused to believe in the tales until he resurrected the witches 300 years later, taking him on the ride of his life. However, upon their rebirth, they find nothing is as they left it, and the worst part, Halloween is now a celebrated holiday.
Variety reports Midler, Parker, and Najimy are not involved with the sequel, but Disney has hopes the three will return in the second make of the legendary movie.
The sequel will be penned by “Workaholics” writer and co-producer Jen D’Angelo. According to CNN, there is no word on who the new cast will feature, but Disney has been sharing the excitement since announcing the sequel to the cult classic.

For the sequel to “Hocus Pocus”, I would like so much that there is: Bette Midler: Winifred ‘Winnie’ Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker: Sarah Sanderson, Kathy Najimy: Mary Sanderson, Omri Katz: Max Dennison, Thora Birch: Dani Dennison, Vinessa Shaw: Allison, Stephanie Faracy: Jenny Dennison, Larry Bagby: Ernie/Ice, Tobias Jelinek: Jay, Doug Jones: Billy Butcherson; and these musics from the movie of 1993: “Main Titles” and “I put a spell on you”.
