For those who tuned into Monday Night Football you’re probably aware of the debacle that was the final minutes of the Seahawks and Lions matchup. For those who were tuned into Love and Hip Hop, let me paint the picture. Kam Chancellor stayed true to his “Bam Bam” persona when he forced a critical Calvin “Megatron” Johnson fumble, preventing a potential lead-shifting touchdown. Following suit, Seattle’s KJ Wright guided the ball over the back line of the end zone and after being ruled a touchback, the Seahawks were granted the ball at the 20.
The problem with all of this is that the touchback was actually the result of an illegal batt, as the NFL has now acknowledged. If you’re wondering what the hell an illegal batt is, it’s any instance where a player batts or punches a loose ball( that has touched the ground) while its in the end zone.”
Of course as the losers in this entire ordeal, the Lions are pretty upset. Especially being that this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Detroit’s James Ihedigbo feels that something has to be done about these missed calls and that apologies won’t suffice. “They got to be held accountable, just as players are in terms of equipment violations.”
So we want to know, if it were up to you, what should happen when a bad call that is later acknowledged comes within the last 2 minutes of a game?
