Shortly after Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison, DJ Akademiks shared a few harsh towards Megan Thee Stallion.
On Tuesday, DJ Akademiks shared his response to Lanez’s sentencing on the Rumble platform. Approximately midway through the live, the hip-hop blogger sent a strongly-worded message to Megan. Additionally, Akademiks blasted legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff, who was reporting on the shooting trial.
“Here’s the facts,” Akademiks said. “I could say whatever the f*ck I want. Because I have an audience. That’s y’all problem. I don’t give a f*ck. So, now, I’m upping the ante because I think people really think that n*ggas like me is bs. Bullsh*t. Bring the lawsuit, or I’m going to tell y’all to s*ck d*ck every day. Y’all gotta bring a lawsuit.”
He continued, “Meghann Cuniff, Meg The Stallion all of y’all, I don’t gotta tell you who the f*ck gave me that information. If it was a serious enough problem, that f*cking judge would’ve f*cking tried to subpoena me.”
According to Cuniff, an official document reveals that Lanez’s legal team confirmed that any non-public trial-related information was disclosed to Akademiks by Lanez himself.
“The judge found that Lanez leaked it to Akademiks,” Cuniff said. “Lanez’s own lawyers said that. I mean, they described that that’s how it happened in the document. And look, I can respect that he doesn’t ever want to reveal who gave him that document. Like, he shouldn’t have to do that.”
The potential lawsuit concern that Akademiks has traced back to the early stages of Lanez’s court proceedings in 2022. The origin dates to February 2021, when Megan publicly criticized Akademiks for wrongly asserting that Lanez’s DNA wasn’t detected on the weapon linked to the shooting. Megan accused Akademiks of “spreading false narratives.”
