Weight Watcher’s shares went up 6% after DJ Khaled became their “social media ambassador.”
Khaled has around 15 million followers on all of his social media platforms, so when he informs his followers that he lost 20 pounds on the program; talk about good advertising for the company.
The weight loss company is hoping Khaled will reach the male crowd and younger audience and increase the enrollment of the Freestyle program. Weight Watchers CEO Mindy Grossman said in a statement that, “Being healthier is not just about weight anymore. It’s about overall health and wellness — being your best self. By capturing and sharing his process, (DJ Khaled) will enliven and inspire his community, showing that it’s possible to integrate healthy habits into your life.”

Weight Watchers said they will pair Khaled with a weight loss coach and have him use the app to track of fitness progress.
We are looking forward to Khaled’s progress. Definitely a great way to start 2018 off.
