While many fathers spent the weekend creating memories with their kids, Djimon Hounsou claims he “can’t recall” the last time he was able to see his ten-year-old son, Kenzo.
On Monday, TMZ spotted the actor outside of a Los Angeles Social Services building. When asked about Father’s Day, Hounsou revealed that he hasn’t even been able to contact his son with Kimora Lee Simmons.
“It would have also been nice, if I couldn’t see him, to at least talk to him, right?” he told TMZ. “Like all fathers, right?”
However, he didn’t specify how long it’s been since he’d seen his son.
“I can’t even recall myself, how about that?” he added.
Although Hounsou made it clear that he wasn’t going through a custody battle, it appeared to be some underlying issue between him and Kimora Lee Simmons. Over the weekend, Simmons took to Instagram to praise her husband, Tim Leissner and her ex Russell Simmons for Father’s Day. Unfortunately, there was no mention of the actor.
Hounsou chose to celebrate the holiday by posting a photo on Instagram of him and his son Kenzo, who is his only child.
Hounsou and Simmons dated for five years before separating in 2012.
