As we continue to mourn the death of rapper DMX, it’s enlightening to know that a premier entertainment venue shares the same feelings.
The Barclays Center will honor the late legendary rapper with a memorial which will be held Saturday, April 24, the rapper’s former manager Steve Rifkand told TMZ.
It’s still unclear how ticketing and capacity issues will work, but capacity will certainly be limited due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the news outlet, X’s family and close friends will attend a more private homegoing at a church located in the New York area the next day.
Mayor Mike Spano was open to the idea of the family using the Yonkers Raceway for the rapper’s services. It’s also been mentioned of a statute or street name in honor of X.
DMX performed on the Barclays stage in June 2019. It was his final big show during the Masters of Ceremony event.
The upcoming memorial will take place two weeks after the rapper’s death.
