Doechii believes it’s too soon to crown the next big superstar in today’s music landscape. In her recent British Vogue feature, released July 10th for the August 2025 issue, the “Booty Drop” rapper admitted she’s still uncovering what it truly takes to reach that next-level status.
“We don’t really have a superstar of this generation just yet, because there hasn’t been enough time,” Doechii said from a studio in North Hollywood. She added, “When I look at pop culture right now, I’m just trying to figure out, ‘OK, what does a Doechii superstar look like? What does it take to make that?’ I have no clue.”
Despite her uncertainty, the Tampa, Florida, native is steadily climbing that superstar ladder. Last month, she joined forces with Tyler, the Creator on “Get Right,” which made its debut during Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week. The track also boasts production credits from Pharrell Williams.
Her rising influence even caught the attention of Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. During an exclusive Drink Champs interview, Shinoda named Doechii as someone he’d like to collaborate with soon.
Drink Champs co-host DJ EFN offered high praise, saying, “She’s Andre meets Tyler the Creator, but better as a female.” N.O.R.E. agreed, responding, “I like that analogy. I agree with you.”
With one Grammy under her belt and multiple hits, Doechii is well on her way to being one of the biggest acts in music.
