Sean “Diddy” Combs has been known to be the mastermind behind many successful stories over at Bad Boy Entertainment. The biggest success story of them all which came to an untimely demise was that career of the Notorious B.I.G. Bad Boy has been known to house some favorite acts such as Total, 112, Faith Evans, Carl Thomas, just to name a few. But where are they now? Great acts whose careers have fallen short via the Bad Boy imprint.
Lets fast forward to 2006, the world was introduced to Danity Kane, a multi-platinum success story. Even with the success of their latest release last year, Welcome to the Doll House they too abruptly met the end of their career as an act on Bad Boy. Are we seeing a pattern here? Is Bad Boy Entertainment cursed? Who knows.
However, there is one act that is defying the odds. Enter Day 26. I’m almost certain these five talented voices didn’t see what was ahead of them the day they signed that contract two years ago; August 26,2007. Since then both their albums Day 26 & Forever in a Day have debuted in the top ranks on the billboard charts. What do they have that these other acts don’t?
Perhaps the fact that we saw them laugh, cry & fight on national television during the Making the Band series. They brought the “real” to reality, especially this last season. We were able to see them progress before our eyes. They’ve done their promo tour, now they’re set to go on a major tour with Trey Songz. They’re new single So Good should be hitting the airwaves soon, which I might add is a nice listen. As if that isn’t enough for the Day 26 fans around, they’ll be releasing a video album “Forever In Your Eyes” exclusive to iTunes on August 25th.
Whatever game plan they’re using to succeed they need not alter it. Success in the music industry these days comes few & far between. They’re two albums in & they’re doing whats needed to stay relevant. Despite the antics of the critics. We here on Baller Alert wish them much continued success!
